New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomisannounced Fridaythat the club has signed free agent tight endSeth Green. Here are five things to know about the Saints roster addition:

  • Green joins the Saints after playing the last two seasons in the United Football League for the Arlington Renegades. He played in 20 games, hauling in 24 catches for 236 yards with two touchdowns. He joins the Saints alongside Renegades teammate cornerbackJayden Price. In addition to fellow Saints teammateBarry Wesley, Green was also a nominee for the league's Sportsman of the Year award, recognizing sportsmanship, character and community service.
  • Green has spent time in the NFL with the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys. Green signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL draft and spent two months on the Cowboys practice squad in the 2022 season. He also participated in the Cowboys 2023 training camp and preseason before being waived ahead of the 53-man roster cuts. He finished the 2023 preseason with one reception for eight yards.
  • The 6-3, 242-pound tight end attended the University of Minnesota from 2016 to 2020 where he played tight end and wildcat quarterback. He finished his career with the Gophers with 114 rushing attempts for 388 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns, six completions for 57 yards and three touchdowns, and six receptions for 83 yards.
  • He finished his collegiate career with the University of Houston in 2021 where he set new career highs with 13 receptions for 157 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
  • A high school quarterback at Allen High School in Allen, Texas, Green helped the Eagles to a 14-1 record and an appearance in the state championship game, with 81 completions for 1,481 yards and 19 touchdowns as well as 99 rushes for 865 yards and 10 touchdowns in his senior season. He previously attended at East Ridge High School in his hometown of Woodbury, Minnesota for three seasons where he played quarterback as well as basketball.
