The Seahawks made a trade with the Vikings Saturday, sending quarterback Sam Howell.

The Seahawks traded Sam Howell, along with pick No. 172, to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for pick No. 142.
The Seahawks then used that pick near the top of the fifth round to select Notre Dame defensive end Rylie Mills.
Howell, who the Seahawks acquired in a trade with Washington last year, spent last season as Seattle's backup quarterback, appearing in two games after starting all 17 games for the Commanders in 2023.
With the Seahawks signing Drew Lock and selecting Jalen Milroe in the third round, there was a lot of depth at quarterback behind presumed starter Sam Darnold, no doubt playing into the decision to move Howell.
