EAGAN, Minn. - Collaborative work by the Minnesota Vikings social media and design teams has been recognized as "Brand & Organization Finalists" by the Shorty Awards.
The Shorty Awards recognize the "best of social media and digital."
This is the 12th annual competition, but it is significantly different than previous years because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Rather than convening physically so that winners can be announced, a digital ceremony is scheduled for May 3 to announce winners.
Skol Scribbles, which won in the Snapchat category last year and earned an Audience Honor, is again a finalist. The Vikings also won an Audience Honor in the Graphics category last year and are again a finalist. The digital coloring book is in its third year.
The Vikings built on their previous efforts to engage fans on game days by launching an innovative feed for Instagram that blended multiple sources into an on-brand identity and helped fuel double-digit growth in 2019. Discover more about the process here.
"We're extremely honored to be finalists in two categories for the Shorty Awards," said Vikings Executive Director of Digital & Innovation Scott Kegley. "We have a tremendous design team that we work very closely with on social media. We had an ambitious plan for Instagram last season, and it was rewarding to see it come to life.
"It's great to see Skol Scribbles listed as a finalist once again in 2020 after we completely reinvented the program to get fans even more involved," Kegley added.
